Drawing on solid experience collected on both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue, Anne Marie Polak provides policy expertise and legislative analysis to the Podesta Group’s biotechnology and health care clients. In that role, she provides substantive examination and translation of complex laws, bills and regulations to help clients better understand the potential implications of rapidly evolving policy decisions and how those decisions affect their agendas.Before joining the Podesta Group, Anne Marie gained valuable know-how working in President George W. Bush’s administration and for leading congressional Republicans. As a congressional aide to Rep. Mike Ferguson (R-NJ), she focused on bioethics, human rights, science and agriculture. She also served as the scheduler for former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-TX). Her time in the administration was spent working for former Labor Secretary Elaine Chao and former US Trade Representative Robert Zoellick.Active in GOP politics, Anne Marie worked with the Republican National Platform in 2004 as a staffer in the policy department of the Bush/Cheney campaign.A native of Atlanta, GA, she has a bachelor's in government from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor from the George Mason University School of Law.
