Tim Glassco
Principal

With a breadth of experience in policy and politics, Tim Glassco advises Podesta Group clients on energy, environmental and international issues. Demonstrating his political dexterity, Tim recently worked with a nonprofit carbon-labeling organization to develop a comprehensive bipartisan legislative strategy to improve the visibility of a carbon product label that was vital to their success.

A professional staff member on Barack Obama’s presidential campaign in 2008, Tim later served on the congressional relations staff for the Presidential Inaugural Committee. He was then asked by the White House to staff President Obama’s first overseas trip to the G20 Summit in London. Tim has extensive contacts in the Obama administration, in Congress and among the rising pack of public policymakers and political professionals in Washington, DC.

Before joining the Podesta Group, Tim was a public policy attorney at a major Washington law firm, specializing in local government funding, foreign sovereign representation and energy issues. He also gained experience in transportation, infrastructure, tax issues and interstate product regulation. Earlier, Tim worked as a management consultant for leading companies.

A native of Wichita, Kansas, Tim has a bachelor's from Southern Methodist University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law. He serves on the Board of Governors of the University of Kansas School of Law and the advisory boards of Carolina for Kibera, an international, nongovernmental organization based in a poverty-stricken community in Nairobi, Kenya, the New Leaders Council, a national network of young political activists, and the Kansas Society of Washington.
